Art! Commerce!

A new zine friend of mine has some paintings for sale, and very attractive they are too. A3 sized, gouache, poster paint, ink and collage on mount board, going for a bargainous £15. Visit her deviantart page for more details - secretbear - and, UK readers, this is a vital opportunity to support a burgeoning artist. And fund her tattoo.

You can't have that last one, because I bought it myself already. Sweet.

A Happy Rainbow-Coloured Gushing Post

Dear readers... I have been busy, and on vacation, and very happy. So this is why I haven't been posting much, up until the last day or two. Sorry about that. (Although, I hate it when bloggers apologise for not posting. I mean, blogging is not some onerous task imposed upon you. You do it for The Love of Blog, therefore you can post when you like, really. Anyway.)

Delightful American girlfriend is finally back in my country, to stay, and it's as if the summer has finally begun. We've been doing exactly as we please, and going on various excursions to pretty places. Just came back from a week in Cambridge, where we wandered colleges, greens, riverbanks, museums, art galleries, pubs and secondhand bookshops. Really, it is so wonderful having her back! I've come over all moony.

My Beloved

Also saw plenty of Tim, who lives in Cambridge and showed us some of the funnest parts. These two people are both bike crazy, so they've been swapping technical bike chatter at length. I don't understand any of it, but I love to hear it. Heading back down South soon, and the girlfriend and Timmy and all sorts of other lovely friends will be there too. Plus our household for the coming year is going to be sweet.

My Platonic Soulmate and Fellow Zinester

All in all I am pretty great right now. Shortly I will have to get on with various serious Life tasks, but with all kinds of good people surrounding me, surely it can't be so bad?

Doodly Woodly Boodly

I came across this fantastic video via For the Love of Type. It is inspiring when people care so much about typescripts that they want to cover themselves in them. Makes me think also of idle chemistry class doodlings on one's arm, only about a squillion times cleverer and following the happy invention of Sharpies. I love Sharpies!!

Apparently this project took: "8 hours of writing, 5 permanent markers, 3 baths and 2 showers to clean off." Nice.

I wonder what she did with the rest of her day once she was all...readable?
